"I continue to get nice comments on the finish job even after I succeeded in making just about every rookie mistake you can make with a paint gun.  This is a quality paint system and the work is greatly reduced by using the reduced number of spray coats.  Each spray coat you have to apply increases the odds of making painting mistakes that are costly in terms of times and expense.  Go with the least number of coats that will yield a good finish and you will be a happy builder.

I am helping a fellow builder on his covering and painting a full scale Nieuport 17 and he elected to use another system.  After 8 coats he is kicking himself because it doesn't look as good as the Mustang did even before I applied the clear coat.  Someone talked him into the other product because he was afraid of the polyurethane even after he came over while I was still shooting the last bit of color coat.  He has also discovered the joy of shooting thinner paints in terms of runs that I warned him about.  I'd take a bet that if he ever has to recover or builds another plane he'll give you a call.

Thanks for all your help and patience."
